Tragic ang ending pero ganun talaga ang basketball , ganda ng pinakita ni sumang - na pagod nalang siguro sa dulo . Jumao-as played great , kitang kita mo sakanya ung sense of urgency ng laro kanina , another kudos to alberto good game for him too.

I hope these next two games ibabad nalang sa laro ung mga bangko natin (galanza olayon etc) para makita kung may future sa team and for their development too.

Let us thank our graduating UE Red Warriors NOBLE, CASAJEROS, SUMIDO, FLORES, & OLIVARES for being part of our numerous campaign for our RED & WHITE Team. It is in Season 77 that we set our expectation for the elusive championship with our new recruits like ARAFAT, PALMA and the returning RR De LEON plus the hold overs of our Season 76 campaign.

Let us hope for the best the elusive crown is getting nearer and the title drought will end next year.
Keep the faith and continue to support our team and let us sing together with heads up high in winning and losing moments of our games. Never leave our team when they are down let us show our grace and SCHOOL PRIDE in time of agonizing defeat so that the we could savor the glory of victory.

Ateneo faces forfeiture of UE win after banned Perasol allegedly seen at game

ATENEO is facing forfeiture of Sunday’s victory over University of the East after suspended coach Bo Perasol was allegedly spotted at the Mall of Asia Arena during their UAAP men's basketball game.

A league official said UE has asked the UAAP board to look into the alleged presence of Perasol somewhere inside the MOA Arena on Sunday while the game was ongoing.

The official also said UE had photo evidence that Perasol was at the arena and was even seen singing Ateneo’s alma mater song at the end of the game.

The Red Warriors lost the game, 72-77, and were eliminated from the Final Four race following their defeat to the Blue Eagles.

Another source confirmed that UAAP rules prohibit suspended team personnel from showing up during games, and that a forfeiture of won matches is the likely sanction for such infractions.

The issue is expected to be taken up during the next regular UAAP board meeting which was moved from Monday to Thursday.

Perasol was not on the bench during Sunday’s match after being slapped with a one-game suspension for a run-in with a fan at the end of the La Salle-Ateneo encounter last September 1.

The decision could have a bearing on both the Final Four hopes of Ateneo and UE, which could have its Final Four hopes revived if the Blue Eagles' win is overturned.

On the other hand, the Blue Eagles are still in a precarious situation as they are in a tie for fourth place with University of Santo Tomas on 7-5 win-loss slates.

Ateneo, however, is still in the hunt for a twice-to-beat advantage.

"Despite being told by a UAAP board member not to attend the game, Ateneo de Manila head coach Bo Perasol still tried to make his way on the court to congratulate assistant coach Sandy Arrespacochaga for their win against University of the East.

According to UAAP rules, suspended team officials are not allowed to be within the premises of the game venues.

The league is set to meet on September 12 to investigate Perasol’s presence at the MOA Arena and impose sanctions if needed."

UE, others violated suspension rules too, Ateneo management tells UAAP amid Bo Perasol issue

Ateneo Blue Eagles management pointed out that University of the East may have violated UAAP’s rules on suspended personnel too in light of the Warriors’ complaint over the presence of coach Bo Perasol in the Mall of Asia Arena.

In a letter signed by Ateneo official Ricky Palou addressed to Fr. Maximino Rendon C.M., the UAAP Season 76 president, Ateneo claimed that suspended UE player Ralf Olivares sat behind the bench for the Warriors’ match against the Blue Eagles.

UE earlier asked the UAAP to investigate the presence of Perasol in the Blue Eagles’ locker room during the match. Perasol was serving out a one-game ban for confronting a La Salle fan.

Ateneo turned the tables on UE by noting that UAAP rules state that “a suspended athlete shall not be allowed to sit in the bench and its immediate vicinity during the period of suspension. A violation of the condition of the suspension shall result in the forfeiture of the game where such suspended athlete was found present.”

The letter also claims there were potential violations in several suspended athletes’ presence in the vicinity of their respective team’s benches, like Far Eastern University’s RR Garcia (August 25 versus UE), UE’s Lord Casajeros and Charles Mammie (August 31 vs National University), La Salle’s Thomas Torres (September 1 versus Ateneo) and Casajeros again (September 4 versus La Salle).

The UAAP Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet on Thursday to discuss the issue.
