Loyzaga Explains Suspensions on Mammie, Casajeros

UAAP Commissioner Chito Loyzaga finally aired his side regarding his decision to slap two-game suspensions on UE’s Charles Mammie and Lord Casajeros.

Already warned prior to the game because of an earlier unsportsmanlike foul, Casajeros was automatically meted a 1-game suspension because he was slapped another flagrant foul in the fourth quarter of the Red Warriors’ loss to FEU last Sunday.

However, the sanction on Casajeros was worsened because the commissioner saw him throwing a cheap shot at King Tamaraw Terrence Romeo in the second quarter of play. The referee failed to call a foul on Casajeros in that play.

About the verdict on Mammie, Loyzaga said that Mammie should have been slapped with an unsportsmanlike foul after he stuck a foot at Romeo while he released a three-point shot.

It’s now the third time Mammie was sanctioned for an unsportsmanlike foul, leading to the two-match ban.

Mammie and Casajeros will sit out the Red Warriors’ next outing against NU on Saturday and against La Salle next Wednesday.

Speaking of La Salle, the Green Archers will miss the services of Thomas Torres in their highly-anticipated match against Ateneo on Sunday after he was slapped with a one-game ban.

Torres was slapped with his second unsportsmanlike foul of the season after he badly fouled UP’s Joseph Marata in La Salle’s 85-63 win.

relax guys all we need is to win at least 1 game against NU & DLSU and sweep the 3 remaining games against ADMU, AdU and UP.

the only way to stop ADMU is to beat them in our 2nd round encounter and hope that they lost another game along the way. Let's hope for the best and please no more mental lapses in the end game and shoot that damn Free throws!!!!

With Mammie and Casajeros sitting down, we can expect extended minutes for Ivan Hernandez Chris Javier, Gino Jumao-as, bong Gallanza and Mark Olayon.

2 na lang sentro natin sa team. Pag nafoul-out or foul trouble ang isa kay Javier at Hernandez o mahihirapan na tayo sa NU at DLSU. Ang next na pwede natin magamit is Flores or Olayon sa gitna.

And DLSU may Van Opstal at Torres. Ang NU may Mbe at Rosario. Medyo mabagal pa naman si Javier at mababa tumalon hindi nya kayang sabayan ang center ng kalaban.

Sana Ivan Hernandez will step-up big-time!

Hi guys, i asked matthew manotoc (our asst. manager) on twitter about certain recruits he mentioned "fil-am paul varilla (6'4) who plays 3-4" have you seen this guy na? BOMBA UE!

An0ther stupid decisi0n from the UE Management of ordering Coach Zamar to n0t elevate the protest to the UAAP Board of Trustees. Tsk.

The UE Management has n0 balls to defend our school.

Nagcampaign kami sa FB na mag black bukas as sign of our protest.

The campaign was gaining steam,marami nang students at alumni na sabi magbblack sila.

Tapos bigla si Ms. Candelaria ng SAO nagpost na "Wear Red, don't abandon UE's color. Black is the color of doom. UE will not be doomed...etc"

Grabe. Hindi man lang tayo magpakita na ayaw na natin ang ginagawa nilang harap harapang panluluto.

Ah yan pala ang info nung varilla , i've posted in the Fr Martin thread- he topscored in one game of the warriors in the current fr. martins cup . cguro ito ung 2 chicago fil-ams ng UE na sinasabi nila sa gameface , malakas daw yan si manotoc mag recruit e

We let another one slip away

Nakakapanginit ng ulo to si olivarez, It seemed he wanted to get suspended and looks like he will after his actions in this game . His bonehead plays cost us the game imo , down 48-47 in that crucial 3rd Q run - useless foul then elbows rono , the coaching staff should have put him on the bench immediately after that. Then gets a tech in the 4Q on the bench

Kudos to Noble , played a great game scoring in different ways even though in slow mo haha , and there was a Sumido sighting as well --- played his best game albeit short minutes . Great game too from Javier and Santos from a rebounding standpoint,  it looked like they wanted to win badly. Sumang , played hero ball too much on the 2nd half his shots were not falling.

We just keep beating ourselves up , and it will be tougher from here on out , we get back casajeros the next game and I hope we snap out of whatever this is and get a F4 slot
