Re: UAAP Season 77
ano meron kay Sumang?
UE head coach Derrick Pumaren: We want to stay alive. This game is very important for us. The boys played well. We played good defense. We showed that UE is not a one-man team. We instill discipline in UE.I think what Roi did was disrespectful to the school. It's unfair to the other guys on the team.

I hope everyone will play all-heart for the School. No Fear, Play Fair! That's the Warrior instinct!

Bumawi si Chris Javier ngayon, break-out game for him sana magdirediretso na.
Monster-Mammie as always!

Re: UAAP Season 77
Bigla nagkaproblema...
UE player Mammie inireklamo
Isang aktibong miyembro ng University of the East sa ongoing 77th University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) men’s basketball tournament ang kinasuhan nang paglabag sa Republic Act 9262 or An Act Defining Violence Against Women and their Children.
Ang idinemanda ang sa Office of the City Prosecutor ng Pasig City ay Charles Hilton Mammie ng Sierra Leone, Africa at kasapi ng UE Red Warriors na may address na c/o Derek Pumaren, UE coach of basketball team, C.M. Recto, Sta. Cruz, Manila.

Re: UAAP Season 77
See you all sa Sunday..Lahat ng remaining games natin are all important games:
Assuming na maipanalo natin ang lahat ng mga games we will end up 9-5 this will give 1 Lost to DLSU, FEU and UST
eto yung possible scenarios:
Should NU win over DLSU and sweep all their other remaining games they will end up 10-4
DLSU Lost to UE and NU will give them 9-5 record, similar to ours.. (Not so familiar if the quotient system will apply or a play off to determine the 4th seeded team., Knowing that it's La Salle, the possibility of play off is at 70%) nevertheless, we have to beat them first on Wednesday by at least 5 points para pag quotient system panalo tayo. Or Should DLSU win Over NU,, them NU ang makaka agaw natin sa 4th spot. So whatever the result would be between the NU-DLSU Game will surely impact us.. mas Beneficial for us if DLSU wins kasi NU still have to face UST..
Versus FEU who really want to solidify their hold on TOP Spot., this is really a TEAM oriented line up na puwedeng mag contribute ang sinuman... pero key players to watch pa rin sila Belo, Tolomia, Pogoy and Inego, tapos buwakaw din sa rebounding si hargroove (Tama ba Spelling?)... kailangan mag step up si Galanza and Jumao-as as we need their perimeter shooting abilities in this game... Well Mammie is Mammie and he brings more heart sa games natin kitang kita naman sa game niya versus NU... Hoping for the best play from our Star Player Roi Sumang..
Projected Result 79-72 (UE)
Versus DLSU
Among the remaining games, honestly dito ako medyo kampante na makukuha natin ng W natin...Deteriorating kasi ang performances ng mga Big man nila lately. Si jeron Teng nalang halos ang gumagawa for them,... si Renz Palma ang kailangang pagbantayin kay Teng on this game para ma contain ang scoring prowess ng DLSU... dito din mas mapapkinabangan ang athleticism ni Arafat I have nothing much to say about this match up kasi kitang kita naman nung first meeting na talagang di tayo kaya ng DLSU, kung di lang dun sa end game collapse natin tayo sana ang nasa TOP spot ngayon... the entire game naghahabol sa atin ang defending champion and this time around.. Sigurado akong hihingalin sila sa kahahabol sa atin...
Projected Result : 82 - 71
Versus UST
Well, we all know naman na UST is already out of the contention (considering their upcoming games para silang naka pila sa death row).. kaya nga lang yung confidence na maibibigay sa mga players natin on 3 key victories (NU/FEU and DLSU) might develop to complacency baka masyado silang mag relax sa game na to and eventually masilat tayo.. Look at what Happened sa Gilas versus Puerto Rico Game... so early on dapat nandun na yung sense of urgency ng players natin... Consider this as one of their important game as well in preparation for the final four Showdown with FEU (Should the quotient system applies) or Knock out game versus DLSU should DLSU end up with 9-5 card as well.. On this game, our back up guard should be given more playing time to further boost their self confidence.. I will be talking particularly for Charcos this time... 2 years from now he will be the main point guard of UE so malaking chance to para makapag adopt siya totally sa UAAP System...
Projected Result 79 - 64
Our team's Fate this season is on our team's Hand at the moment., one more Loss will give us headache as we need to cheer and pray for some miracle to happen.. But considering our Team's performance during their last game versus NU.. they are now prepared to perform for UAAP Season 77 FINALS...
BOMBA UE IGMA KADIMA!!!!

Bong Galanza shows way as UE Warriors down
erstwhile solo leader FEU Tamaraws

BONG Galanza scored 26 points, Charles Mammie had 18, and Roi Sumang helped spark a crippling fourth-
quarter run to lift University of the East to a huge 94-71 win over erstwhile league-leader Far Eastern University
on Sunday and keep its UAAP Final Four hopes alive. Galanza, Mammie, and Sumang scored all the points in a
stunning 21-0 endgame run to pull away. UE improved its record to 7-5, staying alive in the semifinal race by
tightening its hold on fifth spot behind National University, which is in fourth place with an 8-4 slate after beating
University of the Philippines in the first game on Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum. FEU slipped to a share of first
place with Ateneo with a 10-3 win-loss card before their much-anticipated game on Saturday at the Big Dome,
giving third-place De La Salle (9-3) a fighting chance for the top two spots in the Final Four. “I think the boys
really showed their guts,” said UE coach Derrick Pumaren. “They refused to lose. We know the predicament we
are in. We know we have to survive.” It was also UE’s first win over FEU since September 24, 2009. Galanza
started out with a bang, scoring 15 in the first half to help the Red Warriors post a 44-37 lead. They kept control
of the game, with Sumang also contributing in his first game since being benched in UE’s last game, scoring five
of the Red Warriors’ first seven points in the fourth quarter. FEU could not recover as UE’s defense proved too
much and never allowed the Tamaraws to score in the final eight minutes. “They played a hell of a defense in
the fourth quarter against their dribble-drive offense. We were there all the time and challenged their shots.
I’m very proud of the way the boys played,” said Pumaren. Mac Belo had 16 points, while Achie Inigo had
10 points in the Tamaraws’ first game with head coach Nash Racela back from Spain as assistant coach at
Gilas Pilipinas in the Fiba World Cup.
The scores: UE (94)—Galanza 26, Mammie 18, Alberto 10, De Leon 9, Sumang 9, Javier 9, Varilla 5, Olayon 2,
Arafat 2, Jumao-as 2, Palma 2, Hernandez 2, Guiang 0, Charcos 0, Cudal 0.
FEU (71)—Belo 16, Inigo 10, Tolomia 9, Hargrove 9, Cruz 8, Tamsi 6, Pogoy 5, Ugsang 5, Jose 3, Ri. Escoto 0,
Lee Yu 0, Denila 0, David 0, Delfinado 0. Quarterscores: 21-17; 44-37; 64-61; 94-71.

That 25-0 run by UE. Just wow. They were really denying the Tamaraws on the court. See those angry/game faces on Sumang and Mammie? And it was good to see the guys diving for that ball, especially Varilla.

Re: UAAP Season 77
The UE Red Warriors show off their dangerous side
UE 94 – FEU 71
Just before the first round of Season 77 of the UAAP ended, it didn’t seem like UE was going to be part of the Final Four. They hadn’t beaten any of the top tier teams at that point and they unfortunately were labeled as a team that squandered big leads and failed to finish off opponents.
In yesterday’s decisive win over number one FEU Tamaraws, UE showed everyone in the UAAP that they are still a team to be reckoned win.
It was fitting that UE was able to get the victory through their end-game hustle, effort, and extremely good execution. They did not look like the team last July that didn’t know what to do at the end of the game. And in a twist of events, they made FEU look like a rookie team as the Tams were clearly out of sync in the final period.
After the third quarter, the score was 64-61 in favor of UE. It was back-and-forth battle up to that point with no team giving an inch. And then the Red Warriors happened. They submitted 30 huge points in the final quarter that left them helpless against FEU.
However, it should be pointed also that it wasn’t just the fourth quarter brilliance of UE that deserves praise. FEU tried multiple times to pull away in their own scoring runs, but the Warriors just kept fighting back and had no fear facing a top contender. Bong Gallanza’s career-high 26 points were brought about by his sheer confidence. And what about Charles Mammie? He had 18 points and seven rebounds despite having foul troubles. A year ago, he would have probably fouled out in the third quarter.
Roi Sumang’s performance should also be complimented. More than just scoring nine points in 14 minutes, it was through his leadership and the trust of his teammates that they were able to pull off this win. Despite not playing in their previous game, he showed maturity as he made it a point to involve his teammates in their offense. When he decided to take over and score, he did. That’s veteran leadership right there.
The Red Warriors currently have a 7-5 record and are still in the running for a Final Four spot. With yesterday’s decisive win, they look like a rejuvenated team that’s in the hunt for the UAAP crown

Go UE fight!!!

Re: UAAP Season 77
Mahirap hirap na labanan to..
I'll bet my cards on a combination of RR De Leon and Charles Mammie to contain the DLSU frontcourt.

Re: UAAP Season 77
heto na! last push na ito! all or nothing na!!
possible match-up:
Sargeant/Jeron vs Galanza? (Pedrito should have the same confidence just like the game vs FEU!)
Kib Montalbo vs Sumang? (Sana walang hang-over galing gimik tsk3)
AVO/Torres vs Mammie? (Will Mammie dominate? please refer to previous 2 games)
Perkins vs RR De Leon/Chris Javier? (hope Perkins will be in early foul trouble again!! ^^)

Kahit warning wala?

Re: UAAP Season 77
1Q pa lang mahiwaga na ang mga tawag. Umulan ng free throws for DLSU swerte lang natin karamihan splits. Madikit ka lang, pito kagad. Sa atin dinadamba na wala pa din. My respect to the guys esp. Varilla. Ang bias nga walang minention na dapat offensive foul yun from the 2 announcers.
