UE Red Warriors, Champions at Invitational Tournament in Malaysia!

The UE Red Warriors Men’s Basketball Team emerged victorious at the Gatorade-Reebok-University College Basketball League (UCBL) invitational games, winning all of its matches at the tournament which was held from November 24 to 26, 2012, at the Venue Hoops Station Summit in Subang Jaya, Malaysia.

The Warriors first shone at their first game in the tourney, on November 24, Saturday, against UCBL selection of Malaysia. The UE squad trumped their Malaysian counterparts, 132-55.

In their second UCBL outing, on November 25, the Lualhati team defeated the players of Korea Chong Dang University, 108-65.

On the last day, November 26, following an outreach program in the morning by participating coaches including UE Red Warriors Head Coach David “Boycie” Zamar and an afternoon friendly demo game by the Warriors with a Malay community at the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) for a sports exchange program, the Warriors faced off for the championship game versus the Malaysia National Team. The latter featured members of the Polis DiRaja Malaysia (PDRM, a.k.a. the Royal Malaysia Police). The UE squad prevailed, 87-53.

Sabi sa PEX, si Mbala ay pupunta daw ng Ateneo. May isa pa daw na import ang Ateneo. Same with DLSU na may import din.

BM: Moustapha Arafat who is now suiting up for UE is a very close friend of mine. We played in Basketball Without Borders* together and when he came over to the Philippines he convinced me to come over as well because according to him this is a great basketball country. I arrived here when i was still 16 years of age. I tell you, it was very hard for my family to let me go because I was the youngest and I had plans of going to the United States after the BWB camp."

as per gameface.ph- on one thread on the blue side sabi e mukang masaya na ang mga bonleon sa UE , dunno if that means an automatic slot sa team A for mario bonleon jr though
