[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Season78 Projected First and Second Five:
(If Mammie is still eligible)
1st Five
Roi Sumang
Mark Olayon
Paul Varilla
Charles Mammie
RR De Leon
2nd Five
Dan Alberto
Gino Jumao-as
Renz Palma
Moustapha Arafat
Chris Javier
-------------------------
We are still loaded next year.
Kulang lang tayo ng shooters. Pero kung mapopolish lang ni Mark Olayon, Paul Varilla and Gino Jumao-as ang shooting nila pati si RR De Leon we are one of the contenders next yr if I may say.
Hopefully,
Sumang can practice his free-throws,
Arafat can learn how to dribble first before his steps and oh those buttery-fingers!!!
Javier can finally shoot those point-blank shots hindi na yung tirang takot na ihahagis na lang after ng turn-around, and hopefully
Charles Mammie will walk the talk..

Re: 2014-2015 UE Red Warriors Off Season Updates
While watching the NU epic win over the Ateneo, it was mixed emotions - Saya, Lungkot at Inggit. I'm happy for the members of the NU Community who have waited for this for 6 decades. Lungkot, because we could have been the one cherishing this moment if not for those "what-could-have-beens" and "what-ifs". Inggit, simply because it is really proven, that old adage - "You reap what you sow". With the full commitment of the NU Higher-ups and the financial backing of the Sy's not just to NU's Academic Program, but to their Sports Development Programs, the Bulldogs are now back in the UAAP Pedestal once again, regaining their long lost glory - 2 straight Cheerdance titles, UAAP Senior and Junior titles everywhere, and now a chance to grab that elusive UAAP Men's Basketball Title after 60 years. This championship is ripe for the picking, and it's for NU for the taking. I hope the UE Community learns from this so to speak. Sorry for the morning drama. Let me just bid good luck to NU's campaign, and may they find their Cinderella ending to this story which took 60-years in the making. Go Bulldogs!

off topic:
@meteorcatcher, good luck and God bless sa BAR Exams!
-------
Nanalo sa game 1 ang UE Boys Volleyball team natin against the Blue Eaglets, (3-2).
One more win and they will be completing a rare 11-peat in the Juniors' Volleyball Tournament.
The game 2 of the finals will be on monday, 12pm at the Adamson Gym.
May konti tayong video highlights sa UE Red Tribe Fan page.
It's sad to hear na walang transpo service ang team kanina at kahit tubig wala.
Mas nakakalungkot isipin, 9 ang graduating players but only 2 will stay in Lualhati's arm for college.
Si Ingrid Ilustre, na 2-time mvp nung hs at at former uaap athlete of the year sa dlsu naglaro nung college..
Si Giza Yumang na back to back mvp sa girls' volleyball sa csb naglaro..
Si Donna Gamilla na recent na nagchampion sa Table Tennis as a green archer..
at marami pa na lumipat sa san beda, dlsu at nu..
kakalungkot...

anyways.. sana maka-recruit ule ng isang legit SG ang UE! like they said, "isa lang nawala sa UE(Galanza), pero -25+ points naman nawala sa team scoring" lol
My hopes are still high for next season. Kayang kaya na yan! 6-1 nung 2nd Round that was a big statement!!
and btw, kailan nga ba ang PCCL or Fr.

FIL-AM BASKETBALL PLAYERS TRYOUT FOR UAAP, PBA
By Jared Bray, ABS-CBN North America Bureau
Sept. 4, 2014
HAYWARD, Calif. – Dozens of some of the most talented Filipino-American basketball players recently gathered in Hayward, Calif. with the hopes of taking their talents to the Philippines.
“We’d like to open doors toward the Philippines that not all these kids know about despite their Filipino heritage,” said Matthew Monotoc, an EMBM sports agent.
Manotoc’s ultimate goal is to find ballers for the University of the East and the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), two organizations that these young Fil-Am players are aiming to join.
“I’ve been playing in America all my life, and to see a different type of basketball in a different country and to see some of my roots, it would be a good experience for me,” said Trevor Dunbar, an aspiring PBA player.
Finding basketball talent is no slam dunk, but Manotoc says that in the three years of organizing events like this, he’s been able to assist a handful of Fil-Ams with playing collegiate basketball in the Philippines.
“You’re just looking for usually size, ‘cause that’s a little rare in the Filipino community,” said Manotoc. “In addition to size, you’re also looking for skill, athleticism and a certain basketball sense.
He believes that one day he’ll find the next PBA star.
“We haven’t seen one yet, but I’m sure eventually it will happen,” said Manotoc.
As for these players, Manotoc plans to invite a couple to another tryout in the Philippines, where they’ll perform in front of coaches from the University of the East and talk about potential scholarships.

Re: 2014-2015 UE Red Warriors Off Season Updates
Attended a recent UE reg. practice, and here's what I have observed:
- Dindo is in charge on the offensive drills.
- New faces, new players, still no official statement whether these are the new local recruits.
- Awana is doing good, good footwork in the post, good ball handling. He could be Aroga's match I think.

Top high school prospect Fran Yu among players
to watch in PSSBC Ironcon Builders Cup
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
ONE of the players to watch in the coming 3rd Philippine Secondary Schools Basketball Championship (PSSBC)
Ironcon Builders Cup is Chiang Kai Shek College guard Fran Yu. The 5-foot-7 guard has blossomed into one of
best high school guards in the country today, impressing scouts with his speed, creativity, crossover moves
and a consistent jumper. Small wonder, representatives from varsity teams of University of the East
and University of Santo Tomas have already shown great interest in getting his services this early, sources said.
“May mga nagtatanong na sa kanya from UE and UST,” said one supporter of CKSC. “Small but
terrible that’s how he is. But he needs to bulk up to prepare for the UAAP. Di na biro ang labanan duon but I’m
confident that with his talent, he will continue to shine.” Yu has the been the go-to guy of the Blue Dragons as
reflcted in their title showdown with the Ateneo Blue Eaglets in last month’s Jumbo Plastic Linoleum Cup. “He’s
very smart and courageous that’s why he’s a joy to watch,” said CKSC coach Goldwyn Monteverde. “He has
tremendously improved since last year.” Ranged against Ateneo hotshot Jolo Mendoza, Yu proved he was up
to the task by outshining the World 17-Under Championship veteran to help the Blue Dragons win the one-game
face-off for the title, 87-77. Yu emerged as the Finals MVP after putting together 21 points, seven rebounds and
a game-high six assists. Other players worth watching in the event also backed by Dickies Underwear, Hapee
Toothpaste, Blackwater-Ever Bilena, MEC Computers, Rain or Shine, Freego and Jumbo Plastic Linoleum, are Yu’s
teammate JV Gallego, NU’s Mark Dyke, Ateneo’s Mendoza, brothers Matt
and Mike Nieto, San Beda’s Joshua Caracut and Nikko Abatayo, Mapua’s Noah Lugo, Xavier’s Tyler Tio and Hope
Christian High School’s Jollo Go, Anton Yang and Tsaddy Rangel.
