In the current line-up of SBC Jrs, only 3 are underclassmen-- Tolentino, Tongco and Macapayag. Which means fair game sina Abatayo, Abarcar, Nazareno and 2 other guys who are about 6'4" in height - Patenio and Bonsubre. Imo, pwede nang isama sa kahit saang 16-man line-up sa college ang mga yan. May isang 6'6" pa yung Babilonia, pero hilaw pa for next season itong bata.

May Fil-am pa tayo around 6'3-6'4.

Ang problema lang natin next year ay 3 lang ang vacancy sa team.

Sana magbaba si coach ng player sa team b. Nakakalungkot yun sa player pero dapat isipin ng coaching staff ang best interest para sa team.

As per Ivan Hernandez, hindi pa rin daw sya sure kung ma-illineup daw sya next year. And may laro pa daw sila sa CDL. Sana maagang ilabas yung sked para makapanood tayo ng game nila sa CDL.

Ateneo Glory B found the range in the fourth period behind Vince Fran, Chris Newsome and Jomar Adornado to turn the tables on St Benilde B 73-70 at the San Beda gym yesterday. Falling behind as much as nine points early in the fourth period, the B Eagles clamped down on defense with Nico Elorde, Miko Sollano, Zach Aquino and Kevin Gamboa then found Fran down low, Adornado at the arc, and Newsome everywhere else in a 17-0 run that turned a 55-62 deficit into a 72-62 bubble. The B Blazers came back behind the three-point shooting of NCAA veterans Jon Argamino and Jun Garcia to come within 72-70 with still 38 seconds left. Head coach Yuri Escueta sued for time, and Newsome split two freethrows with eight second to go for the final count.

Newsome led Glory B with 22 points and six rebounds. Fran added 15 points, all in the second half, plus 10 rebounds. Elorde had 11 points and five assists including a crucial swing pass to Adornado for a breakaway trey.

Glory B will face either UP B or UE B in the Gabby Severino Quarterfinals this weekend, named in honor of the former Glory B coach who was the moving force behind the innovation started only in 2009.

Bart Bartolo led the B Blazers with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Garcia added 15 points.

UE B for its part edged San Sebastian B 62-58. Falling behind early on, the B Warriors leaned on the three-point shooting of newcomers Nike Montalvo and Jun Pedrito to suddenly pull ahead at 49-39 from a 36-39 deficit. Sam Razon was also brilliant all game long, controlling the boards and the lane.

Razon led UE B with 20 points and 10 rebounds while Montalvo added 14 points.

Former junior division star Raffy Gusi led the B Stags with 11 points while Yser Edora added 10 markers.

Fr. Martin's Cup Update.

77-73 Ateneo defeated UE

Ateneo led through out the game. UE made some stops and spurts to tie the game (70-70) at the final minute of the game. But turnovers killed us. Pagod na siguro mga players natin kasi may laro din sila kahapon sa CDL against Olivares College Team A.

Ganda ng ginawang adjustment ng Ateneo. Ang nagbabantayan sa game ay si Gene Belleza at Chris Newsome. Parehas na scorer nang team sa game.

Nung last minute ng 4th quarter, si Elorde ang pinagbantay kay Pedrito. Inasawa ni Elorde si Belleza. Knowing na kukuha ng space si Pedrito para makareceive ng bola, nagflop si Elorde, ayun tinawagan ng offensive foul si Pedrito, pang-5th foul nya. NABRO mga refs kanina kaya biling bili ang flop eh, specialty ng Ateneo. Haha.

After the foul, Elorde converted a three point shot, 73-70 Ateneo. Then a steal by Ateneo increased the lead to 5, 75-70. Ralf Olivarez converted a triple of his own to cut the lead to 4, 73-77. Ateneo made a turnover with 13 secs remaining in the gameclock. Nikee Montalvo drove and made a drop-pass to an unexpecting Sarej that resulted to a turnover.

Notable Team B Recruits:

1. Belleza - A "Paul Lee" in the making minus the passing skill. Made around 4-5 three points shots. Has hops, skills and the swagger. May angas maglaro. "Go-to-guy" type of player. May shooting. Stands around 6 ft. Kaya lang may tapahoho sa mata. Ball hog. He can score. But sometimes forces the situation. Mukang may go-signal to tumira at magballhog. Karamihan ng plays sa kanya umiikot. Sila nagbabantayan ng explosive Ateneo recruit Chris Newsome. Ilalabas lang sya ng 5secs then ibabalik ulit. He reminds me of former UP Fighting Maroon Mike Bravo.

2. Nikee "Piolo Pascual" Montalvo - nung huli kong nakita to payatin pa, ngayon lumaki na ang katawan. Kita sa mga galaw nya bakit sya naging MVP ng Cesafi Jrs. Hindi lang masyado nakakahawak ng bola kasi laging hawak ni Pedrito. Parang si Marcy Arellano ang skills nya. Mas aggressive lang and mas mabilis. Graceful gumalaw sa court.

3. Bong Galanza- Stands around 6'2. Not that flashy but can score inside and outside. May tira sa tres and sa midrange. Can create his own shot.

4. Sam Razon - hirap pa din kumilos si Razon, hirap sya rumebound eh.

5. Ivan Hernandez - showed flashes of a good ball handling skill. Mabilis sya. And he can post-up. He needs to add some heft though.

6. Dan Alberto - steady point-guard. Rudy Lingganay-type of point-guard. Pass-first pg. Malaki na ang katawan. Mabilis may tira din sa labas. Pwede nang ibaba si Von Chavez sa team b. Smaller version to ni Sam Razon, sa katawan at itsura hehe.

7. Luis Pujante - hawig ni Raffy Reyes, and parang Raffy Reyes din ang laro. May gulang sa paglalaro at walang takot. Pwedeng pwede na to maging backup PG ni Roi Sumang.

8. Seraj Elmejrab - stands around 6'7, malaki na ang katawan. Kaya lang sobrang lambot. Yung pasa sa kanya ni Montalvo nung dying seconds ng 4th quarter hindi nya nasalo tumama sa ulo, tumalbog pa sa ulo, pagsalo nya nabitawan nya pa. Kailangan pa talaga itrain sa team b. Mabagal pa. Slow mo nga pati pagtalon eh hehe. Sana mahasa to ni Coach Jerry.

9. May matangkad tayo na around 6'8(#4). Sobrang payat parang nung bago pa lang si Yutien Andrada ng DLSU. Si Rom Mangalino naman na around 6'7 hindi naman pinaglaro.

Meron din tayong mga wing players pero ang notable talaga ay sina Montalvo, Belleza, Hernandez, Galanza and Pujante.

Ok na ang guard position natin for the next 3-4 years. Yung mga big men natin kailangan lng talagang palakihin at ang papayat eh except for Sarej.

And nakakatakot ang explosive player ng Ateneo na si Chris Newsome. Nag alley-oop two-handed dunk sya in-your-face kay Ivan Hernandez. Emphatic yun! Napawow lahat ng nanunuod kanina. Inulit nya ulit pero hindi pumasok pero in your face sana ni Pedrito. Para syang maliit na version ni Ray Parks.

Maganda naman pala nilaro ng team B sa father martins cup.
