Seryosohan laro kahapon, nathrown-out of the playing court si Coach Ayo.
Mukang DLSU ang team to beat come Season 79 i must say.

Re: UAAP SEASON 79: UE RED WARRIORS, MOVING FORWARD!
UE won over the gritty Mapua Cardinals, 100-88.
Magaling magdrive, matapang at 3-pt shooter, Around 6'2-6'3.
Tapos ung Andrei yung pt guard. Magaling talaga.
To Renz Palma: "Anong tinatayo tayo mo dun? Model ka ba?"
Nabigyan si Olayon ng unsportsmanlike foul, once lang pero pinathrown-out ni Coach Derek haha.
Hahaha!
The Warriors played without Charcos, Cudal, and Yu.
RR De Leon looks to be our Team Captain this coming season.
If I'll be basing my first 5 at second five sa mga players natin ngayon
Acuno/De Leon
J. Varilla/Olayon
P. Varilla/Palma
Batiller/Pasaol
Manalang/Andrei

Re: UAAP SEASON 79: UE RED WARRIORS, MOVING FORWARD!
vs DLSU
Nice to see Olayon back looks like he improved a bit - got a unsportsmanlike foul tho, Ok yung Pasaol looks like a gamer - baka sya yung davao recruit na hinype, sana mala batiller din yung contributions niya . Freethrows parin problema natin lol. Sana mag level up na talaga si Palma onting push pa haha. Fran Yu bulked up a little it, looks like he's improved his game too.
vs MIT
Armenion looks like a keeper - steady pg, natawa ako dun kay olayon. Mas lalong naging confident si manalang looks like he's ready to take another step this season.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If i'm basing it on the vids, im gonna elevate pasaol and armenion to A
Charcos/Manalang/Yu/Armenion
Batiller/J.Varilla/Pasaol
Derige/Palma/Olayon
Abanto/P.Varilla
De Leon/Acuno
Last 2 slots - toss up between - Gagate, Bartolome, Larupay
Team B muna - Cudal, Penuela, Sta. Ana - they haven't shown enough imo
Medyo Hilaw sa Center spot as usual, 1-4 we're competitive enough maybe even deeper than most teams.

Re: UAAP SEASON 79: UE RED WARRIORS, MOVING FORWARD!
I agree with the players demoted to Team B, Cudal sobrang undersize para sa laro nya na post-up player.
Penuela, if he'll continue his perfomance last year, he is just going to ba a Sumido 2.0, shooter sa off-season games pero pag UAAP nawawala.
I'll pick Bartolome over Gagate anytime of the day. Height is might in basketball sabi nga nila, Gagate is just around 6'4-6'5. Bartolome is 6'7.
Undersize si Gagate as center,we need Bartolome para maging kapalitan ni Acuno.
And kailangan natin si Bartolome kasabay ni Acuno pag kalaban natin ang taller teams like DLSU and FEU.
Coach Ayo has played Mbala with Tratter many times in the EDQ Cup.
FEU has 4 players na 6'6 pataas (2 6'8 ) wala pa dyan yung 2 Fil-New Zealander. Kahit gaano kahilaw yang si Bartolome kailangan natin sya for defensive purposes.
Marami tayo scorers ngayon, lalo na pag naging consistent sila at pumutok sabay-sabay: Varilla Brothers, Palma, Olayon, Batiller, Pasaol, Manalang, Charcos, Armenion, RR De Leon.
All these guys can score from outside and the inside.
Perimeter defense lang talaga magiging kalaban natin at fatigue(bcos of the killer press) come this season. Ay meron pa pala, ang mga bentabols if may tatanggap ng offer from that Binondio Mafia.

Natalo tayo last week sa San Beda by 4 points.

UE, San Beda dominate i3i eliminations

The University of the East and San Beda squads shone bright, sending five of the eight teams in the quarterfinals of the first-ever Intercollegiate 3x3 Invitationals Saturday, March 19 at the Xavier School Gym in San Juan.
Three Red Warriors and two Red Lions crews made it to the Elite Eight, where they will be joined by Far Eastern University, Emilio Aguinaldo College and National University in Day 2 on Sunday, March 20 at the SM MOA Music Hall.
UE-A, composed of Bonbon Batiller, Clark Derige, Paul Varilla and Alvin Pasaol, blasted through the competition, winning all eight of their games from the elimination round to the Sweet 16 in the event organized by Kiefer Ravena’s Rack Sports Management and supported by Mighty Sports.
UE-B of RR De Leon, Edgar Charcos, Renz Palma and Ralph Penuela, and UE-C, backstopped by Philip Manalang, Jordan Sta. Ana, Seville Poblete and Omar Larupay will also advance to the quarterfinals, pairings of which will be determined via drawlots Sunday at 12pm.
“Talagang nag-usap kami na pride para sa school,” said Palma, who underscored his stellar performance with a highlight dunk over Jeepy Faundo in the Round of 16. “Di kami mag-kukumpyansa. Focus lang kami na maabot yung championship. Tatlo naman kaming team na nakapasok, so magtutulungan kami.”
Dan Sara, Robert Bolick, Donald Tankua and Davon Potts of San Beda-A also made it, along with San Beda-C’s Raniel Navarro, Joe Presbitero, Jeramer Cabanag and Arnold Noah.
The Generals sent just a single entry of Jozhua General, Jorem Morada, Jeric Diego and Hamadou Laminou, but it was enough to enter the Elite Eight. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs’ B team of Matt Salem, Issa Gaye, Joshua Sinclair and Michael Pate, likewise, made it.
The most interesting story of the Sweet 16, however, was the Tamaraws’ A team, as Joe Trinidad, Prince Orizu, Steve Holmqvist and Joseph Nunag overcame a twice-to-win disadvantage to oust FEU-C’s Allen delos Santos, Jeson Delfinado, Kimlee Bayquin and Emeka Nebedum.
A total of 32 teams from UAAP and NCAA schools participated in the tournament endorsed by the SBP and also supported by Akari, Meralco, SM Mall of Asia, MyPhone, Toby’s, Titan, The Frazzled Cook, Gatorade, Milo, Ambucare and Teravibe.
The winner gets Php 200, 000.00, half of which goes to the school while the first runner-up and second runner-up bring home Php 100, 000.00 and Php 50, 000.00, with the same split, respectively.
Making it to the pre-quarterfinals are University of Santo Tomas, University of the Philippines, Colegio de San Juan de Letran and Arellano University.

Sorry now lang napadpad ulit dito.
Magaling yung Alvin Pasaol.

Derrick Pumaren says guard Fran Yu out of UE lineup
via [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
No less than coach Derrick Pumaren shared the development to FOX Sports, saying he has already dropped the 5-foot-8 Yu out of the Red Warriors’ roster for his failure to regularly attend their practices ahead of the UAAP Season 79 men’s basketball wars.
“He is not showing up in our practices,” said Pumaren during a phone interview on Saturday afternoon. “After the UAAP last year, I think he has attended just 4 or 5 times.”
Pumaren added Yu, a former star guard of Chiang Kai Shek College, is still enrolled at UE’s main campus but did not attend his classes during the second semester, making him ineligible to be given by school management the green light to play.
“For sure, dropped na rin siya du’n sa mga klase niya kaya paano niya mami-meet ‘yung passing grade para makalaro sa UAAP next season?” said Pumaren, adding Yu has refused to share to him what’s really bugging him of late.
Pumaren disclosed Yu still suited up for the Red Warriors “at least twice” during an invitational tourney held at the Technological Institute of the Philippines-Manila that ended last February when they finished tied for fourth overall.
But just when Pumaren thought Yu was on his way back to the team, the lanky guard was nowhere to be found on their succeeding training sessions.
“Undisclosed talaga ‘yung reasons niya. Hindi niya talaga sinabi sa akin kung ano talaga ‘yung problema niya,” he added. “He is good, a very promising player. But how can I include him in the lineup if his attitude is like that?”
In his first season with the Red Warriors, Yu mostly played as a back-up to guards Bonbon Batiller and Philip Manalang, averaging 2.0 points, 1.30 rebounds, 0.7 assists and 0.4 steals against 1.7 errors in 10 games. — By Jerome Lagunzad

Thailand-bound Fran Yu explains decision to leave UE
Just as UE coach Derrick Pumaren told FOX Sports he is removing guard Fran Yu from the Red Warriors' lineup, the young guard talked about the reason behind his decision.
7-fran-yu-batang-gilas-training-4-1-2016
Citing academic constraints, a hand injury and his ability to adjust to the UAAP's high level of play, Yu said he has decided to leave the Recto school for an opportunity abroad.
"Gusto kong maka-gain pa ng experience kasi iba yung level ng college kumpara sa high school," said the former Chiang Kai Shek star after playing for the Batang Gilas U18 squad in a scrimmage against FEU.
Read: Derrick Pumaren says guard Fran Yu out of UE lineup
Yu shared he is going to play for Traill International School in Bangkok, Thailand, an academic institution which recently sent a team to the NBTC at the Mall of Asia Arena.
"Sana makatulong ako sa team," he added. "Feeling ko nawawala na ako sa laro ko, kaya gusto ko lang talaga ibalik ulit."
Yu, who played backup to Philip Manalang and Bonbon Batiller in his maiden season with UE, vowed to return to the UAAP in a year or 2.
"Mag-gagain lang ako ng experience and magdevelop lang ng body ko, tapos babalik," he said. "Iba talaga kasi katawan nila, mahirap makipagsabayan." — By Jason Mercene
